Flow Cosmetics and Helsinki-based vegan craft chocolate manufacturer Goodio joined forces and the collaboration resulted in a delicious chocolate-scented exfoliating cacao soap. The purpose of the cooperation is to make use of cacao shells, which are a by-product of chocolate production and are the only part of cocoa beans that cannot be used in chocolate making. With this soap, no precious ingredient goes to waste!
This skin-caring soap is made from organic plant oils and antioxidant-rich organic cocoa butter. The exfoliating ingredients are cocoa bean shells and dried Finnish bilberries. The soap is gently exfoliating and is suitable for the whole body or even as a kitchen hand soap, as the soap effectively cleanses your hands after baking or handling greasy ingredients. This is also a good cleansing product for grease monkeys and car geeks whose hands may need a little extra attention. Soap does not dry the skin.
Active ingredients:
♦ Organic shea butter contains naturally skin-loving vitamins, minerals and fatty acids, such as oleic and linoleic acid. Shea butter is a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa). Our shea butter comes from Burkina Faso and Ghana. Traditionally, collecting shea nuts is women’s job. Today, it’s an important source of livelihood for local women. Collecting the nuts for shea butter does not harm the trees and is an ecologically sustainable business.
♦ Organic cocoa butter prevents moisture from escaping from the skin and keeps the skin soft. Antioxidant-rich cocoa butter is naturally rich in fatty acids that are important for the skin, as well as vitamin E. Many also use cocoa butter to prevent or treat pregnancy scars.
♦ Cocoa bean shells from the Goodio chocolate factory act as a gentle exfoliating ingredient. Both cocoa butter and cocoa shells give the soap a delicious chocolate scent!
